How Number Porting & E911 works
Number porting lets you change providers and keep your numbers. To start a port we need a signed Letter of Authorization and a recent bill from your current provider, and the details must match that provider's records.
Each line that can dial 911 needs a registered physical address. Emergency calls are routed using this address, so it must be updated whenever a device or person moves.
What it includes
- Port request preparation and submission
- Letter of Authorization guidance
- Status updates while the port is in progress
- Scheduling of the cutover date with you
- E911 address registration
- 911 advisory labels for your devices
The exact features, coverage, and rates for your account are set out in your quote and Order.
